How it works
PhotoReducer compresses your photos with MozJPEG and libwebp — the same engines used by professional tools — compiled to WebAssembly so they run at native speed on your device. At the default quality of 75, most photos shrink by 60–90% with a difference you can barely see.
Why compress images?
Smaller photos send faster on WhatsApp and email, load faster on websites, and take a fraction of the space in your cloud storage. Many platforms also enforce upload limits, and compressing your image is the quickest way to get under them.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Compression runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your images never leave your device.
Will compression ruin the quality of my photos?
At the default setting the difference is barely visible for most photos, while the file size drops dramatically. You can adjust the quality slider and re-run to compare results.
Which formats are supported?
You can compress JPG, PNG, WebP and AVIF images, and choose the output format you prefer. iPhone HEIC photos are coming soon.
